The Danish Queen’s Initiative Sparks Comparisons with Meghan’s Podcast
Journey
Queen Mary of Denmark has captivated attention with the announcement of her
new podcast addressing youth loneliness, a project seemingly echoing Meghan
Markle’s foray into the medium.
Taking to Instagram, the 52-year-old royal revealed her excitement about the
initiative, launched through the Mary Foundation. In the post, Queen Mary
shared a photo of herself engrossed in a podcast, dressed in a chic black
outfit and accessorised with glasses and earphones.
The podcast, titled Lonely Youth, explores the complexities of loneliness
among young people through expert insights and personal stories. Highlighting
the urgency of the issue, Queen Mary noted alarming statistics from the
foundation’s study, which found 73% of 16–19-year-olds in Denmark experience
loneliness, with 17% feeling very isolated.
“This is a heavy reality we must address,” the Queen shared, adding, “While
podcasting is new to us, I hope listeners will feel welcomed and gain valuable
insight.”
The announcement arrives as Meghan Markle keeps fans awaiting her next podcast
release. After ending her Spotify deal in 2023, the Duchess of Sussex
partnered with Lemonada Media but has yet to debut new material.
Queen Mary’s proactive move has drawn comparisons, with royal watchers noting
her ability to deliver impactful content while Meghan’s next steps remain
under wraps. Fans are eager to see how Meghan responds in her podcast journey.
