Princess Catherine shares heartfelt message of empathy and love during
festive season
James Middleton, brother to Catherine, the Princess of Wales, shared a deeply
personal and touching Christmas message he received from his “incredible
sister.”
The card, part of the personalised letters sent to attendees of Catherine’s
fourth annual carol service at Westminster Abbey, carried a message of hope
and support. The service, themed around “empathy and love,” was especially
poignant following a challenging year for the Princess, including her family’s
journey through cancer.
James posted a photo of the card on Instagram, quoting its heartfelt
sentiment: “At Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each
other. Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other’s light.” He
praised the message, calling it “very powerful” and wished his followers a
Merry Christmas.
The Order of Service, designed by bestselling author and artist Charlie
Mackesy, featured an illustration alongside a scripted note: “How did I help?
You were by my side. Which was everything.” The design encapsulated the spirit
of unity and compassion that Catherine aimed to highlight during the season.
The Princess of Wales’s carol service continues to reflect her dedication to
fostering empathy and resilience, drawing praise from family and the wider
community alike.
