Prince William Delivers Emotional Speech After Kate’s Return to Royal Duties

Prince of Wales Expresses Gratitude During First Engagement of the Year

Prince William marked his first royal engagement of 2025 with a heartfelt
tribute to paramedics and emergency service workers, just a day after Princess
Kate made her return to public duties.

As the newly appointed Patron of the College of Paramedics, William attended
the inaugural Emergency and Critical Care Conference in Birmingham on
Wednesday, highlighting a significant development for the organisation.

Kensington Palace shared highlights from the event and a statement from
William, emphasising the importance of the profession:

“Paramedics and those in the emergency services are adaptable, multiskilled,
and crucially, know how to work under pressure. Proudly becoming Patron of
@ParamedicsUK. It’s been a privilege to spend time today with first responders
whose work saves lives day in, day out.”

During the event, William delivered an emotional speech acknowledging the
tireless efforts of emergency service workers:

“Often referred to as the Swiss Army Knife of frontline healthcare, paramedics
and those in the emergency services are adaptable, multi-skilled, and
crucially know how to work under pressure,” he said.

He continued, “In this country, we owe an enormous debt and gratitude to our
emergency services. As paramedics in whatever guise, your work uniquely places
tremendous demand upon you, and I cannot thank you enough for all that you
do.”

William’s speech and his new role underscore his commitment to supporting
frontline workers, setting a compassionate and focused tone for the year
ahead. His appreciation for the emergency services reflects the monarchy’s
dedication to recognising and uplifting those who serve their communities.
