Buckingham Palace Shares Exciting Update on Prince Edward’s Royal Tour

Duke of Edinburgh represents King Charles on key visit to India

Buckingham Palace has provided an exciting update on Prince Edward’s ongoing
royal tour in India, where he is representing King Charles.

The Duke of Edinburgh met with young participants of the International Award
for Young People in India (IAYP), a program aimed at helping students develop
skills, confidence, and purpose.

Sharing moments from the visit, the Palace released photos of Edward engaging
with students and officials at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. Accompanying
the images, a statement read:

“The Duke of Edinburgh has been in Mumbai and Delhi to meet those
participating in @IAYPIndia, a non-formal education and learning framework
supporting young people to find their purpose, place, and passion in the
world.”

“Since its inception in India in 1962, the Award has helped more than 150,000
students from 325 schools and educational institutions across the country.”

Prince Edward and his wife, Duchess Sophie, have become invaluable to King
Charles, stepping up to fulfill royal duties, particularly during recent
health challenges within the monarchy.

Reports also suggest that Prince William has “big plans” for the Duke and
Duchess of Edinburgh’s expanded role when he ascends the throne, further
solidifying their importance in the future of the Royal Family.
