Kensington Palace shares Prince William’s latest engagement as Harry
prepares for Invictus Games
Prince William held an important meeting at Windsor Castle with five young
environmental innovators ahead of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games event in
Canada.
The winners of the prestigious Blue Peter Earthshot Competition, selected from
nearly 2,000 entries across the UK, presented their groundbreaking
planet-saving ideas to the Prince of Wales. The young environmentalists, aged
8 to 12, also showcased their projects at the Speaker’s House in the House of
Commons before joining William for an interactive session, where they created
eco-friendly bird feeders together.
As part of the engagement, Prince William awarded certificates to the young
changemakers and engaged in discussions about environmental challenges,
further reinforcing his commitment to sustainability.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Prince Harry’s Invictus Games is making
history as it introduces winter sports for the first time. The Vancouver and
Whistler 2025 Games will kick off with a star-studded opening ceremony on
February 8, featuring performances by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and pop icon
Katy Perry.
With 23 nations participating—Lithuania and Brazil making their debut—the
Games continue to expand their global impact. Outgoing Invictus Games CEO
Dominic Reid praised Harry’s dedication, stating: “It is very important to him
as a soldier, and very important to him as a person.”
As Harry prepares for the landmark event in Canada, William’s latest
engagement reflects his ongoing focus on empowering young minds and
championing environmental causes.
