Pop Star Shows Support Following High-Profile Royal Appearance
Katy Perry has publicly expressed her gratitude to Prince Harry after
delivering a show-stopping performance at the Invictus Games 2025 opening
ceremony in Canada. The singer, who lives near Harry and Meghan Markle in
Montecito, was among the event’s headliners, closing the ceremony with an
electrifying set of her most popular songs.
This marks Perry’s latest connection to the royal family following her
performance at the 2023 Coronation Concert for King Charles and Queen Camilla.
At the time, the King praised her longstanding dedication to charitable
causes, a commitment she reinforced through her participation in the Invictus
Games.
During Saturday’s event, Perry performed hits including Roar, Dark Horse, Part
of Me, Lifetimes, and Firework, energising the audience and celebrating the
resilience of the Games’ competitors.
Following her performance, the singer took to Instagram to share her thoughts,
writing, “Was beyond inspired by the spirit of The Invictus Games and all the
competitors today. Thanks for letting me chameleon my way through the opening
ceremonies…” She also hinted at an upcoming concert, adding, “See you again
this summer, Canada [wink emoji].”
The official Invictus Games account responded warmly, stating, “The honour was
all ours! Thank you for making memories that will last a lifetime,” alongside
a yellow and black heart emoji representing the Games’ signature colours.
