Meghan Markle has responded to Netflix’s unexpected decision to renew With
Love, Meghan for a second season, just days after the show’s debut.
The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram on Friday to share her excitement,
posting a teaser featuring the rhythmic sounds of chopping, stirring, and
sizzling in the kitchen.
Captioning the clip, Meghan wrote: “Oh, how I love ASMR!” before teasing the
upcoming season:
“If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on
Season 2!”
She also thanked her team and viewers, adding:
“Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and
crew who helped bring it all to life! @Netflix.”
The renewal comes despite the show receiving mixed to negative reviews, with
critics calling it a vanity project. However, a TV insider told The Sun that
the controversy surrounding With Love, Meghan has worked in its favor.
“This may raise a few eyebrows, but one thing Netflix loves is controversy—and
this show certainly created a lot of debate. Many thought there was no way it
would get another season, but the streamer is delighted with the chatter it
has sparked on both sides of the Atlantic.”
The first season of the show, which features Meghan and celebrity guests
cooking and gardening, included cameos from Prince Harry and Meghan’s mother,
Doria Ragland, in the final episode. With Season 2 now confirmed, the Duchess
is set to continue her culinary journey on Netflix.
