The Prince of Wales hopes Forest Lodge will be a permanent family home
Prince William and Catherine are set to move into Forest Lodge with their
three children, a decision shaped by William’s own childhood.
Royal expert Jennie Bond noted in The i Paper that the move from Adelaide
Cottage is rooted in William’s determination to create the kind of stable home
life he and Harry missed. “After a childhood spent shuffling between the homes
of his quarrelling parents, William is determined to give his family the
stability he missed,” she explained.
When Charles and Diana separated in 1992, William and Harry grew up splitting
their time between Kensington Palace, Highgrove, Sandringham, and Balmoral.
That constant upheaval left its mark on William, influencing how he now wants
to raise his own children.
The Wales family had been living in Adelaide Cottage for the past three years,
reportedly to see whether Windsor worked for them. It did. Their children are
thriving at nearby Lambrook School, and the location allows William and
Catherine to be more present in daily family life.
A source said the move to Forest Lodge reflects a long-term decision. “This
move is for the long-term. They see it as their forever home,” the insider
shared.
