King Charles Pushes Back Against Harry’s Memoir Claims

New book praised as a “counterattack” amid father-son rift

King Charles has reportedly delivered a quiet but pointed response to Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, which deepened the royal rift by portraying Queen Camilla as an “evil stepmother” and “villain.”

According to insiders, both Charles and William were furious when the book was released, with the King particularly upset by Harry’s words about his wife. The fallout even led to the Sussexes’ eviction from Frogmore Cottage.

Now, with Charles battling cancer and peace talks simmering behind the scenes, the monarch appears to be fighting back through loyal allies. His former royal butler, Grant Harrold, has published a memoir painting a flattering portrait of the King and dismissing claims of tension between Camilla and Charles’s sons. Harrold even suggested that both William and Harry had been supportive of their father’s marriage to Camilla.

Palace sources described the move as a calculated response to Harry’s accusations. “This is Charles hitting back,” one insider told Shuter Scoop. “Harrold’s book is a direct counterattack on Harry. It’s basically saying: don’t believe him, believe me.”

Friends of Harry, however, see the timing differently. One claimed that the Duke views the publication as a “takedown,” accusing the palace of using former staff to undermine him.

Adding to the picture, Charles’s former gardener Jack Stooks has also praised the monarch, reinforcing the image of a dignified King and beloved Queen Consort, while casting Harry as the unreliable son profiting from grievance.

For now, the battle of narratives continues, with father and son still far from reconciliation despite Charles’s public affection for his “darling boy.”
