Prince and Princess of Wales to return to royal duties with visit to Natural History Museum gardens
Kensington Palace has confirmed that Princess Catherine and William will resume their public duties following their summer break with King Charles at Balmoral.
The couple are set to visit the Natural History Museum’s newly redeveloped gardens later this week. Their engagement will highlight how children and young people are being encouraged to connect with nature and support biodiversity in cities.
Royal commentator Rebecca English shared the news on September 1, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “The Princess of Wales, Patron of the Natural History Museum, and The Prince of Wales will visit the Museum’s newly transformed gardens and meet children and young people taking part in learning programmes which see them connecting with nature in urban areas on September 4.”

During the visit, Catherine and William will meet pupils engaged in programmes linked to the National Education Nature Park. Both the Park and the new gardens are part of the Museum’s Urban Nature Movement, an initiative designed to inspire environmental awareness and encourage people to protect the natural world.
The announcement from Kensington Palace came just hours after Buckingham Palace shared a lighter update from Balmoral, where King Charles and Queen Camilla enjoyed a musical evening as part of their summer holiday.
