Prince Harry May ‘Overshadow’ King Charles’ Legacy, Report Suggests

Father and son face possible reunion during Duke’s U.K. visit

The Duke of Sussex is preparing to return to Britain in the coming days, with
speculation mounting over a possible reunion with King Charles.

Five years on, the strained relationship between the King and his youngest son
remains a subject of intense public interest. But according to Us Weekly,
Charles does not want his legacy defined by family turmoil. A royal insider
told the outlet: “Charles does want to meet Harry. He doesn’t want this
falling-out to overshadow his legacy. But Harry has caused chaos and hurt, so
it’s complicated.”

Harry is scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards on September 8, which could
provide the first opportunity for a face-to-face meeting with his father in
nearly two years. Palace sources, however, caution that nothing is certain.

The 76-year-old monarch, who is continuing treatment for cancer, is said to be
approaching the matter with caution. Royal historian Marlene Koenig noted that
any meeting would likely take place privately and on the King’s terms rather
than Harry’s.

Hints of reconciliation have surfaced in recent months. Back in July,
representatives for both sides reportedly held talks, with Harry even offering
to share his diary to avoid scheduling clashes. Whether those efforts will
lead to genuine progress remains to be seen.
