Meghan Markle Fears a ‘Showbiz Conspiracy’ is Targeting Her

The Duchess believes powerful forces are working to derail her momentum

Meghan Markle reportedly believes her latest Netflix project has been
overshadowed by a deliberate campaign to keep her out of the spotlight.

The second season of her cooking series With Love, Meghan premiered on August
26, alongside a new product launch from her lifestyle brand As Ever. But
according to insiders, the show failed to deliver the impact Meghan had hoped
for, leaving her frustrated.

Sources told Radar Online that Meghan blames celebrity distractions for
derailing her success, pointing in particular to Taylor Swift’s engagement
announcement, which dominated headlines on the very day of her launch.

“Meghan is convinced there’s a showbiz conspiracy to kill her momentum,” one
insider claimed. “She feels every time she has something big, another huge
story breaks that steals the attention. She believes forces are working in the
background to sideline her after her criticism of the royal family.”

The Duchess has reportedly compared her situation to Princess Diana, worrying
that her wings are being deliberately clipped. But not everyone in her circle
is convinced, with one source dismissing the idea as “deluded,” adding that
Meghan simply can’t compete with A-listers like Swift.

Despite publicly “liking” Swift’s engagement post on Instagram, Meghan was
said to be “seething privately.” She is also thought to be disappointed that
her lifestyle brand has struggled to secure celebrity endorsements.

With Love, Meghan was filmed in Montecito and features appearances from
Chrissy Teigen and Tan France. While the first season drew 5.3 million viewers
and ranked as one of Netflix’s stronger performers in early 2025, critics
dismissed it as “toe-curlingly unlovable.”

Reports suggest that Harry and Meghan’s original $100 million Netflix deal has
since been replaced with a scaled-back first-look agreement.
