Buckingham Palace confirms Duke of Sussex’s reunion with King Charles will
not be disclosed
Mystery surrounds Prince Harry’s anticipated reunion with King Charles, nearly
20 months after the two last met.
Talk of reconciliation has grown since senior aides from the Sussexes sat down
with Tobyn Andraea, the King’s communications secretary, earlier this year.
Reports suggest Harry even shared details of his diary with Buckingham and
Kensington Palace, fuelling hopes the family might finally move beyond their
long-standing rift.
While Harry is confirmed to attend the WellChild Awards on Monday, where the
press will cover his appearance, any visit to the Palace will remain private.
The move reflects Buckingham Palace’s broader stance on keeping family visits
discreet, especially as the royals prepare for the funeral of the Duchess of
Kent, who passed away on Friday at the age of 92. The Duchess, a senior royal
and King Charles’s aunt, lived at Kensington Palace with her husband, the Duke
of Kent.
Although Harry is not on speaking terms with his brother, Prince William, he
has shown willingness to appear at family events in the past. Last year he
attended the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes at their mother Diana’s Althorp
estate, where he paid his respects but did not interact with William.
Whether Harry will quietly make a similar gesture during this visit remains
uncertain. Palace officials are clear that no details of any private meeting
will be released unless information emerges from insiders.
