Kensington Palace releases uplifting update ahead of Women’s Rugby World
Cup final
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, joined King Charles in sending encouragement
to England’s rugby team just hours before their World Cup final clash with
Canada.
On 27 September, Kensington Palace published Catherine’s personal message to
the Red Roses, along with a cheerful photo taken with one of the players. She
wrote:
“Good luck England! Wishing the very best of luck to the @redrosesrugby in
their Women’s Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham today. We’re so proud of
you! C.”
Her words followed a note from King Charles, who had earlier expressed his
warm wishes to both England and Canada. As head of the Commonwealth, the King
praised the dedication and determination of both sides, describing rugby as a
sport that thrives on “spirit of sportsmanship, determination and true grit.”
He concluded by reminding the players that regardless of the result, they had
already made their nations proud, signing his message simply, “Charles R.”
