King Charles Invites German President for State Visit

Palace confirms December dates as attention centres on separate Prince
Andrew email leak

Buckingham Palace has issued its first statement since reports about Prince
Andrew’s leaked email. On 13 October, the Palace confirmed that King Charles
has invited the President of Germany, who will be accompanied by Frau
Büdenbender, for a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday 3 December
to Friday 5 December.

The programme will be hosted by the King, with Queen Camilla, Prince William
and Catherine expected to take part in official welcomes and a State Banquet.
The announcement follows a busy season of diplomacy, which recently included a
high-profile visit in September.

The Palace statement did not address the separate controversy surrounding an
email reportedly sent by Prince Andrew to Jeffrey Epstein, which has triggered
renewed criticism of the Duke of York. Instead, the focus remained on
preparations to host the German delegation and the ceremonial plans around the
visit.
