Duchess of Sussex focuses on new opportunities while Harry tackles
security concerns
Meghan Markle has been keeping a busy schedule lately, sparking speculation
about her next steps. Her recent solo appearance at Paris Fashion Week drew
particular attention, where she supported her close friend Pierpaolo Piccioli,
the new creative director at Balenciaga.
Although Meghan has shown little desire to return to the UK, her European
visit reportedly raised some eyebrows at the Palace. Royal watchers suggested
the Sussexes might be testing public reaction to Meghan’s presence in Europe,
a region still seen as closely tied to her royal in-laws.
Rumours also continue about Meghan’s possible move into the fashion world,
with some hinting she could make an appearance at London Fashion Week.
However, royal expert Phil Dampier told the press that a UK comeback is
unlikely. According to him, Meghan remains “unpopular” with the British public
and has consistently ranked low in YouGov’s favourability polls.
Harry, on the other hand, is said to hold deep affection for the UK but faces
ongoing challenges over security. He recently wrote to Home Secretary Shabana
Mahmood to request automatic police protection for himself and his family
during visits. At the moment, their security is granted only on a case-by-case
basis, which makes a return for Meghan and the children improbable until the
issue is resolved.
