Veterans Day post sparks renewed talk about a possible royal return
The Duke of Sussex’s team released a new statement shortly after Meghan Markle
offered what many saw as a peace gesture to King Charles, prompting fresh
speculation about whether the couple may ease their way back towards the royal
fold.
On 11 November, Meghan surprised followers by posting a message honouring war
heroes alongside a well-known video of her husband from his military days.
Many online readers viewed her post as a symbolic olive branch towards the
family, who have been taking part in several remembrance events across the
country.
Soon after her message, the Duke’s Invictus Games team shared their own
Veterans Day tribute. They posted photos from the parade held in New York City
by the Invictus Games Foundation, celebrating what they called the “wonderful
members of our community.”
They added that they felt humbled to support those who serve and would
continue to stand by anyone in the international service community who needed
help.
Will King Charles welcome the Sussexes back?
There has been ongoing talk that the Duke of Sussex is considering a return to
royal duties, with commentators suggesting he may feel adrift in Montecito.
His recent letters to veterans and remarks about his continued bond with the
British public have added to the speculation.
Meghan’s decision to join the wider royal family in honouring the forces has
been seen as a supportive move that aligns with her husband’s hopes.
Even so, it remains uncertain whether King Charles would fully welcome the
couple back. Some royal observers believe their path home might be even more
difficult in future under William’s reign.
