Report says Portugal could offer her a calm reset after Royal Lodge notice
Sarah Ferguson may have settled on what she sees as the ideal place to rebuild her life after receiving notice to leave Royal Lodge, the home she shares with Andrew.
A report from New Idea claims that insiders believe Portugal is at the top of her list. One of their daughters has been living there with her family since 2022, and the country is said to feel like a natural fit for the Duchess as she works out her next steps.
According to the outlet, those close to her say she views the move as a chance to regroup and recover from everything that has unfolded. They add that staying in their daughterโs oceanside villa for the foreseeable future may be her most practical option, even if it is a difficult adjustment.
Their daughters are understood to be concerned that she is not fully accepting the seriousness of the situation. Still, they agree she needs somewhere stable to go, and Portugal appears to offer that.
In October, King Charles began the formal process to remove the โStyle, Titles and Honours of Andrewโ after the latest email scandal. The palace confirmed that he will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease at Royal Lodge had given him legal protection to stay on the estate, but he has now been formally asked to surrender it and move to private accommodation.
