Future queen pushes for unity as scrutiny around Andrew continues
Catherine is working to show a united royal front despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Andrew. According to royal commentator Neil Sean, she has sent personal invitations to his daughters for this year’s Together at Christmas service.
Sean told Fox News Digital that the invitations came directly from Catherine’s office, noting that the carol service is her own project and she has full control over the guest list. He added that the family wants to appear cohesive after a difficult year.
He said this puts Andrew’s daughters in an awkward position. Declining could look like they are dismissing an important royal event, while attending risks drawing a media spotlight they may prefer to avoid.
The comments follow Kensington Palace’s announcement that Catherine will host her fifth annual Together at Christmas carol service on 5 December at Westminster Abbey. This year’s theme is love in all its forms.
The event will blend traditional and modern elements and welcome guests of all faiths. The Westminster Abbey choir will perform well-known carols, alongside readings and musical pieces from Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The service will also highlight stories from attendees who are working to build a more connected society.
