Winslet, Waddingham and Ejiofor set to join the royals at Westminster Abbey
Buckingham Palace has released a brief note on the royal family’s website confirming Catherine’s annual Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on 5 December. The statement offered no extra detail beyond saying that Her Royal Highness, in her role as Joint Patron of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, will host the gathering at the Abbey.
The palace made no mention of William and Catherine’s planned joint appearance on 3 December, when the couple are due to represent King Charles as they welcome the German president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, at Heathrow.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that actors Kate Winslet, Hannah Waddingham and Chiwetel Ejiofor will join the British royals for the carol service, now in its fifth year. The Together At Christmas event honours people who have given their time to support others and aims to bring communities together to reflect on the importance of kindness and connection.
Around 1,600 guests who have worked to strengthen their communities will attend. The Abbey choir will lead the carols, with additional performances from Waddingham and singer Katie Melua. William will be among those delivering readings during the service.
The event will be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve. Fifteen community carol services backed by the couple’s Royal Foundation will also take place across Britain throughout December.
