Inside Sarah Ferguson’s Plans for Life After Andrew and Royal Lodge

Sources say she is preparing for a future on her own terms

Sarah Ferguson appears to have a clear sense of what comes next as she prepares to leave Royal Lodge, the home she has shared with her former husband for many years. The shift marks a major moment for her, affecting both her public role and her private life.

A recent comment to People magazine pushed back on speculation that she might move in with her daughters in the Cotswolds or in Portugal. Her next residence has not been announced, just as her former husband’s plans remain only partly outlined, though he is expected to move to a privately owned royal property on the Sandringham estate.

A report from Express UK says several people close to her believe she intends to build an independent path that does not involve the disgraced former prince. Those familiar with the situation describe her as focused on establishing a future that stands apart from the turmoil surrounding him.

Her public difficulties intensified when leaked emails revealed past exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein, despite her earlier public criticism of him and the allegations he faced. At the time, she stated that she condemned any abuse of children and regretted ever having had contact with him.

One of her emails showed her apologising and insisting she had never used the word she was accused of saying. She wrote that she understood he felt let down and described him as a supportive presence in her life and her family’s life.

After the messages were published by The Sun and the Mail on Sunday, a spokesperson explained that the leak came after threats of legal action. They noted that she had long expressed regret about her link to Epstein and that her concern remained with his victims. The spokesperson added that she had cut ties once she understood the scale of the allegations and that Epstein had later threatened to sue her for defamation after she condemned him publicly.
