Meghan Markle ‘didn’t tell the whole truth’ as Thomas Markle speaks out

Meghan Markle is facing fresh scrutiny after her father Thomas Markle said he has not heard from her directly, despite recent claims that she reached out following his major surgery.

His comments come after Meghan’s spokesperson issued a statement saying the Duchess had “reached out” to her father. Thomas told the Daily Mail that the Duchess has not called him since what he described as a “life or death” leg amputation.

Royal expert Rob Shuter said several sources have confirmed that Meghan has not spoken with her father and has no plans to visit him, even though some had speculated that a reunion was in the works. One insider put it plainly, saying nothing has changed and Meghan is not planning a trip right now.

Shuter said the public statement from Meghan’s team was carefully phrased. They confirmed she “reached out,” but avoided saying the two had spoken. According to insiders, that is because Meghan did not contact him personally. Instead, her representatives passed along a message on her behalf.

Another source stressed that Meghan and Thomas have still not communicated directly.

Thomas Markle, who recently had his left leg amputated and remains in intensive care, became emotional as he spoke about his wish to see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet. He said he has always been open to reconciling and still loves his daughter. He added that he does not want to spend the rest of his life estranged from her and that it would mean a great deal to meet the children and Harry.

He also said he wants to speak with Meghan but is unsure whether this is the right moment given his condition.
