Buckingham Palace shares moments as recipients are honoured for work in
arts, charity and public service
Buckingham Palace has released new photographs from an investiture ceremony
held at Windsor Castle, where King Charles and his sister Princess Anne
presented honours to individuals recognised for their contributions to public
life.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, with the monarch and the Princess Royal
awarding honours to recipients from a range of fields including the arts,
charity work and community service.
Among those recognised was actor Carey Mulligan, who was appointed Commander
of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to drama. Her work
on stage and screen has earned widespread praise over the years.
Jeffrey Edwards was awarded an OBE for his dedication to supporting disaster
survivors and the wider community in Aberfan. His efforts have focused on
helping people affected by tragedy and strengthening community support.
Katharine Staples received an MBE for promoting sport and fitness, while
Hilary McGrady, Director General of the National Trust, was appointed CBE for
her services to heritage.
Louise Fetigan and Valerie Lolomari were also awarded MBEs in recognition of
their work supporting young people and their efforts to help prevent violence
against women and girls.
