Prince Harry says his children are back in school after a difficult start to the family’s reported return to the UK.
Speaking to Hello! magazine at the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner & Awards in London on Thursday, Harry shared an update on Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
“We’re getting stuck into the work. Kids are in school. We’re happy,” he said, describing the past two weeks as “eventful.”
Harry attended the gala without Meghan Markle. He said he was glad to be back in Britain and was looking forward to next year’s Invictus Games in Birmingham.
According to the report, the couple took their children out of their first school just two days into term. There were concerns about how to keep them safe on the daily journey to and from school.
A family spokesperson said Harry and Meghan made the decision after speaking with their security team.
An unnamed source said the family had loved the school and appreciated the care provided by its staff.
Sources also said security checks had taken place at the school before term began. However, the school run had reportedly not been tested in advance and proved too difficult to manage safely.
After the children joined a new school, Meghan reportedly faced another privacy concern. A screenshot showing her personal phone number was shared within a parents’ WhatsApp group she had joined.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph reported that Meghan had been granted her first government-backed security review.
The couple are expected to receive an official assessment of the risks they face, according to the report. They have also been asked to give the Royal and VIP Executive Committee detailed information about their daily routines.
