celebrating distinguished contributions to the arts and sports, amid reports
of Prince Andrew’s decision to withdraw from a pre-Christmas event due to
ongoing controversy.
The royal family’s social media accounts shared photos of King Charles
presiding over an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, honouring film
director Sir Christopher Nolan and producer Dame Emma Thomas for their
extraordinary contributions to cinema.
The Palace statement read: “Congratulations to all who received honours during
today’s Investiture ceremonies, including Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas.
The couple were recognised for their extraordinary contribution to film, with
their partnership producing major blockbusters such as The Dark Knight trilogy
and Oppenheimer.”
The post engaged followers by asking: “How many of these Nolan-Thomas films
can you identify?”
Also honoured was Red Bull Formula One team principal Christian Horner, who
received a CBE for his services to motorsport. Speaking about the ceremony,
Horner described King Charles as “charming.”
This celebratory event comes as reports confirm that Prince Andrew will not
attend the royal family’s pre-Christmas gathering at the Palace, a decision
tied to his alleged connections to a “spy.”
