Fresh schedule released while claims grow that William will spend the holiday with the Middleton family
Buckingham Palace has released new details about Prince William’s upcoming engagements as reports continue to spread that he plans to miss King Charles’s private Christmas lunch. The speculation began after claims that the monarch extended an invitation to Andrew, which has reportedly added strain to an already difficult year inside the family.
Royal commentator Rob Shuter suggested that the Prince of Wales intends to spend Christmas with Catherine’s family instead. He said he had heard from palace sources that William would skip the lunch again and described the growing tension between father and son as impossible to ignore.
While these claims circulate, the palace has shared confirmed updates on its official website. On 1 December 2025, the Prince of Wales will visit KLA UK on Celtic Way in Newport. He will also attend the Welsh Investment Summit at the International Convention Centre Wales in Coldra Wood.
Royal expert Richard Palmer added that William, much like his father, sees the monarchy as a force for positive change. He noted that although the Prince has faced criticism for supporting England in football, he remains committed to backing the Welsh economy. During his visit to Newport, William will attend the Wales Investment Summit, where he will highlight Wales’s leading industries and encourage both national and international investment. He is also set to deliver a speech focused on promoting the country’s economic strengths.
