Chelsy Davy is said to be happier than ever after ending her relationship with Prince Harry

A friend says walking away was the best decision she ever made

Chelsy Davy is reportedly thriving years after her split from Harry, with those close to her saying she has “never been happier.” The two were together from 2004 to 2010, marking one of the most significant relationships of his early adult life before he met Meghan Markle.

According to the Daily Mail, a friend shared that Chelsy has moved forward without a hint of regret. She is now married to Sam Cutmore Scott and is said to feel her life unfolded exactly as it should have. The friend reflected on how different things might have been if she had stayed, adding that the breakup was likely “the best thing that ever happened to her.”

There has long been speculation that Chelsy stepped back because she was not willing to take on the pressures of royal life. She spoke openly about this in a 2016 interview, saying the attention felt overwhelming and that she struggled to cope. She described the experience as “crazy and scary” and said trying to live a normal life during that period was “horrible.”

Royal expert Ingrid Seward echoed this, saying Chelsy recognised early on that the royal role was not for her. Seward noted that, much like Cressida Bonas, who dated Harry later, Chelsy was clear-eyed about what that world required.

Even though Harry eventually stepped down from his royal duties in 2020, Seward suggested this change would not have been enough to alter the course of their relationship. Harry now lives in California with Meghan Markle and their children, while Chelsy continues to build her own life far from the royal spotlight.
