Kanye West Reveals How Son Saint Inspired His New Album ‘Bully’

Rapper Opens Up About Fatherhood and North’s Budding Music Career

Kanye West has shared a surprising revelation about the inspiration behind his
upcoming album Bully—his 9-year-old son, Saint West.

During a recent appearance on The Download podcast with Justin Laboy, the
47-year-old rapper recalled how the album title came from a playful but
telling moment between Saint and another child.

“My son was playing with some kid, and then he kicked him,” Kanye explained.
“I asked my son, ‘Why did you do that?’ He said, ‘Cause he weak.’ I was like,
‘This man is really a bully, right here.’”

Ye, who shares Saint with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, jokingly described his son
as a handful. “Saint just kicks everybody and pushes them over,” he added with
a laugh.

While Bully was inspired by Saint, Kanye also credited his 11-year-old
daughter, North, for shaping the project. “My oldest said, ‘Bring it out in
June,’ so we’re gonna do it on [North’s] birthday ‘cause that’s her favorite
album so far,” he revealed.

North is already following in her father’s footsteps, announcing her own debut
album, Elementary School Dropout—a nod to Kanye’s iconic College Dropout.

“I’m just thinking about how her album is going to be—like, how insane,” Kanye
said proudly. “I’m the hands-down greatest, and she gonna be the greatest.”

Even Kim is adjusting to North’s growing music career. In The Kardashians
season 6 trailer, she admitted, “I thought I was busy before, [but] having to
be her momager right now is crazy. Ah, I’m Kris Jenner, oh my God, what’s
happening?”
