Monarch marks national milestone amid Duke of Sussex’s presence in the
country
King Charles III surprised royal watchers by issuing a significant message to
the people of Canada while Harry remains in the country for the 2025 Invictus
Games.
The royal family’s social media accounts shared the King’s official statement
in honour of the 60th anniversary of the National Flag of Canada.
“On this day in 1965, Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag was raised for
the very first time on Parliament Hill,” the statement read, marking the
milestone.
The message followed Harry’s own emotional remarks as he continued his
Invictus Games commitments, while Meghan Markle returned to the US earlier.
The Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson provided updates on his activities via
Sussex.com, highlighting his engagement with competitors in wheelchair rugby,
one of the most intense events in adaptive sports.
