Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor takes a firm step to shield his loved ones
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has moved to protect his and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters after his fall from grace over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The former prince has begun fighting to keep their daughters safe from the wider royal fallout as he faces pressure to leave Royal Lodge and cooperate fully with the investigation.
Some royal commentators believe Andrew did not surrender his titles out of duty. They argue he did it for their daughters. One British broadcaster said Andrew held on to the last traces of his status for as long as he could, but he would never allow their daughters to lose their royal titles or their place in royal life. According to Helena Chard, Andrew has always pushed to secure their position within the royal family and will continue to fight for them.
Chard also claimed this is why King Charles will not remove the titles from their daughters, suggesting an understanding exists between the two brothers. She noted that the arrangement keeps the young women away from the worst of Andrew’s troubles.
Under the reported agreement, Andrew accepted giving up his own titles as long as their daughters kept theirs and stayed in the line of succession. The Palace has confirmed that one of their daughters remains a Counsellor of State, able to stand in for the king during short periods of illness or travel.
Despite the setbacks faced by Andrew and Sarah, their daughters have held on to both their titles and their roles. The king is said to value and care for his nieces, and he aims to shield them from further disruption.
Royal experts describe the alleged deal as a positive outcome for everyone involved. They say it provides Andrew and Sarah with reassurance about their daughters’ future. Both young women continue to support charitable work and contribute to the family’s public responsibilities.
