King Charles Honours Rising Stars at London Symphony Orchestra

Monarch attends LSO finals celebrating emerging conducting talent

King Charles attended the finals of the 18th Donatella Flick London Symphony
Orchestra Conducting Competition, joining musicians and young conductors for
an evening dedicated to fresh talent in classical music.

The London Symphony Orchestra shared a short video from the event on Instagram
in a joint post with the Royal Family account. The caption congratulated all
finalists and noted how pleased they were to welcome the King to the occasion.

The LSO also highlighted his long association with the organisation,
explaining that he served as Patron of the competition while he was Prince of
Wales and now continues as Patron of the orchestra. The post praised the
finalists for their bold ideas and strong performances, saying their work
showed why orchestral music remains so important.

Charles became Patron of the LSO on 8 May 2024, taking over the role
previously held by Queen Elizabeth.
