King Charles Shares Personal Statement Amid Questions Over Andrew and Sarah

Monarch issues message as royal future of Duke and Duchess of York comes
under scrutiny

Buckingham Palace has released a personal message from King Charles, even as
debate grows around the future of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson following
the Epstein email scandal.

On September 27, the royal family’s official social media accounts posted the
King’s words ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup final between England’s Red
Roses and Canada.

Charles and Queen Camilla extended their best wishes to both sides, with the
King writing: “What a remarkable achievement for both teams to have reached
this pinnacle of the sport. I know that supporters on both sides of the
Atlantic will be cheering with equal and tremendous pride.”

He continued: “May the best team win, and may you both play with the spirit of
sportsmanship, determination and true grit that makes rugby such a wonderful
game to watch. Whatever the result, you have already done your countries
proud. Good luck to you all. Charles R.”

The statement came at a time when Sarah Ferguson faces backlash over a leaked
email to Jeffrey Epstein. The controversy has renewed calls from commentators
and royal watchers for Charles to take a firmer stance on the Duke and Duchess
of York, who many feel continue to damage the monarchy’s image.
