King Charles Upholds Tradition as William Steps Into a Leading Role

Buckingham Palace marks a milestone celebration as Charles and Camilla
attend a special temple visit while William quietly takes on greater royal
duties.

King Charles and Queen Camilla chose to focus on unity and gratitude as they
marked a significant milestone amid recent royal tensions. Buckingham Palace
announced that the royal couple attended a special celebration this week, with
Prince William taking a more prominent role in royal affairs in the
background.

In a gesture of cultural respect, the King and Queen visited Europe’s first
traditional Hindu stone temple, which celebrated its 30th anniversary. They
were greeted with vibrant flower garlands and exchanged warm wishes for a
‘Happy Diwali’, acknowledging the Hindu festival that took place earlier this
month.

The temple, opened in August 1995, holds deep significance for the British
Hindu community. Buckingham Palace noted, “Both The King and Queen have been
to the temple before. In 1996, His Majesty, then Prince of Wales, made an
official visit, the year after it opened.”

During their visit, Charles and Camilla met worshippers and representatives
from community initiatives supported by the temple, including The Felix
Project and Women of the World (WoW). They toured the grounds, admired the
intricate carvings on the ten-metre-high dome, and took a moment for quiet
reflection.

The outing coincides with growing speculation about a gradual shift in royal
responsibilities. Royal expert Maureen Callahan told the Daily Mail that the
King has effectively “handed over the crown” in terms of day-to-day influence,
suggesting that William’s role within the monarchy has strengthened
considerably.

Callahan noted that William has been making “power moves,” particularly in
handling sensitive family matters involving Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
While King Charles is known for his cautious approach, she said, William
“clearly has no such squeamishness,” indicating a more decisive leadership
style emerging within the next generation of the monarchy.
