Duchess’ silence seen as quiet support for the King during a troubled
moment for the monarchy
Meghan Markle has stepped back from celebrating a personal milestone as King
Charles faces mounting challenges.
Her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, has been nominated in the
Business & Culture category at the Signal Awards. The show, produced by
Lemonada Media, was recognised alongside other high-profile programmes.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the production team wrote:
“We’ve been nominated for THREE @signalawards. Best Host: @hasanminhaj for
Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know (@HMDK), Business & Culture: Confessions of a
Female Founder with @meghan, and Self-Improvement: My So-Called Midlife with
@reshmasaujani.”
They went on to thank supporters and encourage fans to cast their votes:
“It’s an honour to be recognised, and now we need your support. Cast your vote
and help us take these awards home. Every vote matters.”
While Lemonada celebrated, Meghan remained noticeably quiet. She has not
reshared the post or commented on her nomination, leading some to believe her
silence is a deliberate show of support for King Charles, who is battling
cancer and dealing with growing strain within the royal family.
The monarchy recently suffered another setback after an email from Sarah
Ferguson to the late Jeffrey Epstein surfaced, drawing fresh scrutiny. The
revelation has put additional pressure on Charles to distance the institution
from the York family in an effort to safeguard the monarchy.
In this context, Meghan’s decision to hold back on celebrating her
professional recognition is being seen as a thoughtful gesture during a time
of difficulty for the King.
