Prince Harry may be inching closer to reconciliation with the royal family, but a new report suggests that any peace deal comes with a firm boundary: Meghan Markle is not part of it.
According to Express UK, behind-the-scenes talks between Buckingham Palace and Montecito have intensified in recent weeks, following a confidential meeting between King Charles’s aides and top staff representing the Sussexes. While progress appears to be underway regarding Harry’s potential reintegration into royal life, insiders claim Meghan’s presence remains a major obstacle.
“They just don’t trust her,” one royal source revealed, suggesting that senior members of the family remain wary of the Duchess of Sussex’s intentions. The concern reportedly stems from fears that any renewed connection could be exploited for personal or commercial purposes—including podcasts, interviews, or future media projects.
Royal editor Emily Ferguson explained that while the feud may not drag on indefinitely, any reunion would likely exclude Meghan entirely. “Any family reunions will have to be a solo affair,” she noted, adding that Meghan “wouldn’t be welcome.”
Prince Harry has recently signalled a willingness to ease tensions, offering to share his diary with palace officials to avoid future public clashes. However, the olive branch appears to be limited to his personal involvement, with Meghan remaining firmly in the background.
According to insiders, Harry has also maintained that it is not “safe” for his wife or children to visit the UK—a claim some believe serves as a convenient way to sidestep her inclusion in any royal arrangements. Meghan is reportedly content to remain in Montecito, where she continues to pursue her own ventures.
