Prince Harry Nervous Ahead of Long-Awaited Meeting with King Charles

Father and son reunion seen as possible “first step” toward healing

After 20 months apart, Harry is expected to finally meet privately with King Charles during his upcoming trip to the U.K.—a moment some see as the start of reconciliation.

A source told the Mirror there is “a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach” between father and son, though many hurdles remain. William is said to still oppose a reunion, and years of unresolved tension linger.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold explained that while Harry is keen to see his father, the meeting is far from straightforward. “He will be slightly nervous about it because it’s quite a big deal if he does get to see his father,” he told the outlet. “There would be discussions about whether the rift could be healed.”

Harrold stressed that one meeting cannot undo years of strain but suggested it could be a turning point. “There is a chance they could begin to resolve it. But I don’t think one meeting is going to resolve four or five years of fallout,” he said. “But it’s a stepping stone in the start of the healing process.”

The possible reunion comes as Harry prepares to attend the WellChild Awards in London, which coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
