Prince Harry Sparks Tensions as He Backs Meghan in Royal Rift

Duke of Sussex accused of upstaging family with UK return

Prince Harry is once again at the centre of royal drama as critics accuse him of overshadowing King Charles and Prince William while standing firmly by Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex has decided not to appear in season two of With Love, Meghan, reportedly to avoid drawing attention away from his wife’s project. Royal commentator Jennie Bond praised the move, saying Harry had “taken a conscious step back and this is Meghan’s thing.”

Yet his timing has raised eyebrows. From his appearance on VJ Day that eclipsed the King and Queen Camilla’s event, to his latest plans, Harry’s actions are often seen as deliberately clashing with royal occasions. His upcoming trip to London to attend the WellChild Awards falls on September 8 — the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

The Duke, who has lived in Montecito with Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, since stepping down as a senior royal, will deliver a speech, present an award to an inspirational young child, and meet with seriously ill children and their families at the charity event.

Some critics argue the overlap adds strain to his already fractured relationship with the royal family, suggesting the move could further deepen divisions. His visit has also sparked speculation that he may meet with his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William, during the short stay.
