King Charles ready to welcome his son back into the royal fold
Speculation is growing that Harry may reunite with King Charles during his trip to London on September 8. Many royal watchers believe the Duke of Sussex still has a chance to heal his fractured ties with the family — and that it may take just a single word.
According to one royal insider, “An apology from Harry could turn the tide and reopen the doors of Buckingham Palace to him. Sorry might just be the one word that gets Harry back in the palace.” They added that Charles is “more than ready to welcome his youngest son back into the royal fold,” should Harry make the gesture.
Harry has already admitted his worries about his father’s health, confessing in an interview that he doesn’t know how much time they may have left together. Insiders suggest that a sincere move now could create a path to reconciliation, while delaying risks losing the chance, especially with Prince William believed to hold a firmer line.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother and I, believes Harry is shifting away from public battles with his family. “Prince Harry won’t be sharing more secrets as he seeks to extend an olive branch to the royal family. Hopefully, Harry will just rebuild his life,” she said.
