The Duke of Sussex reflects on WellChild’s impact as the Waleses quietly
show their support
Prince William and his wife Catherine continue to support Harry in a cause
that has remained close to his heart for nearly two decades.
The Duke of Sussex has been Patron of the children’s charity WellChild since
2007, building a deep and lasting relationship with the organisation. The
charity focuses on helping seriously ill children live safely at home,
supported by specialist nurses and tailored care within their own communities.
Over the years, Harry has regularly attended WellChild’s annual awards,
spending time with children and their families, offering encouragement and
helping raise awareness and funds. His personal approach and long-term
commitment have brought added visibility to the charity’s work and the
challenges faced by families caring for children with complex medical needs.
Earlier this month, Harry shared a heartfelt letter as part of WellChild’s
latest Impact Report. In it, he spoke about being continually inspired by the
strength and resilience of the WellChild community, particularly at a time
when health and social care services are under intense pressure. He noted that
the charity continues to act as a lifeline by advocating for families,
innovating care solutions and ensuring children can be supported at home
wherever possible.

WellChild shared the letter on its official Instagram account, which is
followed by more than 22,000 people. Among those followers is the official
account of Prince William and Catherine, a small but clear sign that the
Prince and Princess of Wales continue to stand behind Harry’s long-running
charitable work.
