The Prince and Princess of Wales once enjoyed casual evenings out with Harry and Chelsy Davy
Before royal duties and family tensions took over, William and Harry enjoyed a far more relaxed life.
King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, recently shared memories of the brothers’ younger days, recalling how they would spend low-key nights at a local Gloucestershire pub with their partners, Catherine and Chelsy Davy.
Harrold, who worked for the King for seven years, told GB News that it was “quite weird” to see the royal foursome casually sitting in the bar at The Custard Pot.
“We used to go in there, and you’d walk into the bar and you’d have William and Harry and Kate and Chelsy Davy, all sitting there. Just having a drink, which is quite weird. They were just fun. As I’ve said all the way along, they were just a family that all got on really nicely. It was always a fun place to eat.”
He described those moments as a reflection of a freer time for the princes, before constant public scrutiny made such outings nearly impossible.
Harry and Chelsy dated on and off from 2004 to 2011, and though their romance ended, they remained close. The Zimbabwe-born lawyer even attended both William’s and Harry’s weddings in later years.
