Princess Catherine may push for Harry reunion despite William’s resistance

Royal expert says she won’t meet Harry without William’s approval

Catherine, Princess of Wales is said to be open to reconciling with her
brother-in-law Prince Harry, even as Prince William keeps his distance. Royal
experts believe Catherine could try to persuade William to allow a meeting
between the brothers after King Charles III privately met Harry during his
recent visit to the UK.

Harry arrived in London on Monday and quietly visited Queen Elizabeth II’s
grave at St James’s Chapel, just seven miles from the Waleses’ residence. At
the same time, William and Catherine made a surprise appearance at the
Sunningdale Women’s Institute, which many viewed as a sign they were avoiding
any encounter with him.

Royal author Pauline Maclaran, a professor at Royal Holloway University of
London, said she doesn’t think Catherine is deliberately avoiding Harry, but
that she would need William’s consent before seeing him. “It’s pretty well
known that William is estranged from his brother, so I doubt she would meet
Harry without William’s approval,” she told Express US.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry later met King Charles at Clarence
House on Wednesday for about 55 minutes. Maclaran said Harry’s visit seemed
sincere. “I’m sure he genuinely wanted to honour his grandmother, but it also
reminds people of his royal status and keeps him visible to both the public
and his family,” she said.

Despite Harry staying quiet about royal matters and Meghan Markle softening
her public tone, William is reportedly still cautious. An insider told The
Mirror that William feels Harry has often chosen publicity over private
resolution and wants assurance that the family won’t be dragged into headlines
whenever Harry has something new to promote.

For now, it’s uncertain whether Catherine will be able to convince William to
agree to a reunion.
