No posts from King Charles, Prince William, or Kate Middleton as Duchess
dominates spotlight
The royal family has maintained a noticeable silence on social media following
Meghan Markle’s highly publicised return to Instagram and the launch of her
new Netflix project, With Love, Meghan.
Neither King Charles, Queen Camilla, nor the Prince and Princess of Wales have
shared any posts since the Duchess of Sussex reactivated her long-dormant
Instagram account, @Meghan. Typically active in keeping royal followers
engaged with updates and photos, the royal accounts have been
uncharacteristically quiet.
The lack of engagement is perceived as a deliberate decision by the Firm to
avoid overshadowing Meghan’s efforts to promote her series, allowing her to
keep the spotlight. Meghan’s social media comeback has been met with
widespread attention, amassing over a million followers on her account.
On Thursday, the Duchess shared the trailer for With Love, Meghan, expressing
her excitement:
“I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as
much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Beyond
grateful for the support—and fun!”
The series, set to premiere on January 15, promises to provide an intimate
look into Meghan’s life, passions, and celebrity connections. As Meghan
garners buzz with her new venture, the royal family’s subdued response
underscores the ongoing complexities in their relationship.
