Royal Family Reportedly Open to Rebuilding Ties with Prince Harry—But Not Meghan Markle

Peace talks begin behind closed doors as trust issues resurface over Duchess of Sussex

While the Royal Family appears to be extending an olive branch to Prince Harry, insiders claim Meghan Markle remains excluded from reconciliation efforts.

According to reports, representatives from King Charles and Prince Harry’s respective teams recently held a discreet meeting—marking the first formal communication between the two households in years. The private discussions took place at an exclusive members’ club near Clarence House and are being described as an early step in potential peace talks.

Those in attendance included Meredith Maines, Harry’s new Chief Communications Officer, and Liam Maguire, who manages the Sussexes’ UK media relations. They reportedly met with Tobyn Andreae, Communications Secretary to King Charles.

“There’s a long road ahead,” one source told the Mail, “but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years.”

However, not all members of the Royal Family are ready to forgive and forget—particularly when it comes to Meghan. A separate source told the Express that there is little appetite for repairing the fractured relationship with the Duchess of Sussex. “They just don’t trust her,” the insider claimed.

Harry and Meghan officially stepped down as working royals in 2020 and have since launched several public critiques of the monarchy, most notably in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey and through Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare.

While the Royal Family may be willing to explore reconciliation with Harry, the road back for Meghan appears far more complicated—marked by lingering distrust and the lasting impact of past revelations.
