New claims suggest Queen Elizabeth II privately used a label Sarah never wanted
Fresh claims have surfaced about a private title the late Queen Elizabeth II is said to have used for Sarah Ferguson after the former duchess’s past scandals.
According to a palace source, Ferguson may face a long road trying to revive her career, as many organisations remain reluctant to risk their reputation by working with her. The insider alleged that the Queen gave Andrew’s former wife a title she would never have chosen for herself.
The late monarch, who died in 2022 at the age of 96 after seven decades of service, reportedly referred to Ferguson as the “Duchess of Deceit.” The label was said to have emerged after the 2010 “cash for access” scandal, in which Ferguson was filmed appearing to offer introductions to Andrew in exchange for money.
RadarOnline reported that the Queen’s view of Ferguson changed sharply after the incident. Quoting a well-placed source, the outlet claimed the scandal left a permanent mark on their relationship.
Royal author Andrew Lownie was told that the Queen believed Sarah’s behaviour had lasting consequences and that she viewed her as “remorseless” for selling access and sharing private family information for financial gain.
The claims highlight the strain that developed between the late Queen and her former daughter-in-law, even as Ferguson has continued working to restore her public image.
