Royal fans deliver a clear verdict on a festive comeback
Royal fans have made their feelings known on whether Meghan Markle and Harry should return to the UK for Christmas, and the answer is overwhelmingly no.
The couple have not spent Christmas with the Royal Family since 2018. A year later, their lives shifted firmly to the United States, and since then the festive season has been a California affair.
In a poll run by the Express, readers were asked if they wanted the Sussexes to change course and travel back to the UK this Christmas. Out of 6,458 votes, a striking 6,186 said the couple should stay in California. Just 219 wanted them to return, while 53 remained undecided.
The result left little room for doubt, with most respondents firmly against the idea of a festive reunion.
Comments under the poll were just as blunt. Some argued the couple should stay away permanently, while others said their presence would only create fresh tension. One reader claimed the UK was “not safe” for them, while another said the country had “enough problems” without adding more drama.
Despite the speculation, all signs suggest Meghan and Harry will keep things low-key. They are expected to spend Christmas Day at their Montecito home with their children, Archie and Lilibet, now four.
They are also said to be planning a New Year getaway with friends, continuing a pattern that keeps their festive celebrations firmly rooted in California rather than the UK.
