Why Meghan Markle Holds On to Her Royal Title

Experts say her latest move reveals what’s really going on

Media reports claim that during a recent Harper’s Bazaar cover interview, Meghan Markle asked a staff member to introduce her by her full royal title. The move has sparked a fresh round of debate among commentators who follow the royal family.

Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that the choice raised eyebrows. She said it goes against normal practice and suggested that it shows how strongly Meghan values her royal status. According to her, the title still helps Meghan with her work in the United States because it draws attention and keeps her visible.

Chard added with some humour that Meghan’s behaviour often gives comedy writers plenty of material.

Hilary Fordwich shared a similar view. She said decisions like this are rarely accidental and believed the introduction was meant to make a statement, even if it did not land the way Meghan might have hoped. Fordwich described the use of the title as unnecessarily showy.

Richard Fitzwilliams also weighed in. He said the story suggests Meghan remains closely linked to her royal identity. He found it especially odd that the title was used in a room with only two people present. Fitzwilliams noted that while it is acceptable for her to be introduced formally when meeting a group of children in Los Angeles, the contrast makes this situation look unusual.
