Zara Tindall already has her post Christmas plans locked in and they involve a familiar long haul trip with her husband Mike Tindall.
Just days after the festive season wraps up, Zara Tindall will be leaving the UK for Australia as she heads to Queensland for one of her most established sporting commitments of the year. The couple are travelling to the Gold Coast to attend the prestigious Magic Millions Polo, a fixture that has become a regular part of their calendar.
Zara has been an ambassador for the tournament since 2012, and her annual appearance has become something of a tradition. This year, she will share ambassador duties with Argentine polo star Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina Blaquier. Nacho is a close friend of Prince Harry, and the pair were recently seen playing polo together at a charity event in Aspen.
Zara is also expected to take part in the charity match itself, competing against Nacho during the 2026 Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo and Showjumping Day.
Australia holds strong personal meaning for Zara and Mike, who have often described it as their home away from home. Speaking previously to Hello!, Zara explained that years of regular visits have turned Queensland into a second base for the family.
The couple’s connection to Australia goes back more than 20 years. They first met in 2003 in a Sydney bar while Mike was recovering from being dropped from England’s Rugby World Cup squad and Zara was travelling during a gap year.
Before heading to the southern hemisphere, Zara and Mike have been enjoying some festive downtime in Europe. The pair recently took their children on a ski holiday to Austria, staying at the resort of St. Anton am Arlberg, rounding off the year with a family break before another busy start to the next one.
